Natasha, Stylist
I live in the beautiful 1000 islands with my husband and 3 children. I have always had a love for creating an art. I choose to use that love of art to create beautiful hair.
I graduated cosmetology school in 1997, and have been following my passion ever since. I joined River Day in 2014. I believe in continuing education, and I’m constantly expanding my skills and knowledge with online classes. I love to see the transformation of hair, and bringing a smile to my clients faces.
Nicole, Stylist
After Graduating college knowing that I was not cut out for a desk job, I was blessed to have the support of parents who understood my passion for hair, and helped make it come true by giving me the opportunity to attend the BOCES adult cosmetology program in 2010.
Once I became a NYS licensed cosmetologist, I was hired by Regis where I worked for a year to gain experience. In 2012 I applied at a local salon in Clayton – Creative Edge Salon. There I had the opportunity to work backstage to many hair shows, and was able to work beside the salon owner Tracey, who was an educator for an Italian company called Kaaral. While working there, I was able to learn color theory and chemistry of hair color in more depth. I have attended 2 major hair shows located in Toronto and New York City. At those shows I learned that the hair industry is always changing and evolving which is why I love doing what I do! There is always something new for me to learn , whether it is a new formulation or new cutting technique, so I continuing my education is very important to me.
What I love most about my career is being able to work in a small town where I am able to make personal connections with my clients. I love being a hairdresser not only for the artistic aspect of my career, but more so for the clients. Helping them through life’s trial and celebrating life achievements is something I look forward to when each client sits in my chair. I wouldn’t be where I am today if I wasn’t for all the support of my clients have given me through all the years. I appreciate you all and hope to get to see you sooner than later.
Erica, Massage Therapist
As a dancer and athlete, the body has always fascinated me. After a knee injury and subsequent surgery, I became interested in massage therapy as a career when a physical therapist and train massage therapist helped me to not just recover, but to become stronger.
I attended the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Ithaca, NY, graduating in 2005. I promptly returned home to the St Lawrence River to build my practice and family.
I understand that each client has specific challenges and preferences, and pride myself in being able to adapt to their specific needs. I specialize in deep tissue massage, so while a firm touches my strong suit, relaxation and comfort are still a top priority. I like to help my clients work through areas of emotional and physical tension, not only on the table, but to give them tools to succeed at home as well. As a mother I empathize with the physical and emotional challenges women deal with during and after pregnancy, so I offer prenatal massage, as well as a roman therapy and hot stone massage. I want to thank all of my clients, and please know that I look forward to seeing you soon!
